The Buddy System

By Mother Wire Magazine Staff Writers

FREMONT - Ever make a resolution to start working out? If you broke it, you're not alone. Studies have shown that if you have someone to excercise with, you are more likely to follow through in your efforts to commit to a weekly regiment. You can build your own personal support sytem by including family members or friends in your exercise plan.

It may be as simple as walking early in the morning before your busy day begins, or walking during your lunch hour. You don't have to commit to anyone but yourself and your buddy. You become motivated when you are expecting that 6:00 a.m. call to take a brisk walk through the neighborhood and that person is already up and ready to go!

Find someone who has similar goals of fitness. Mom's make great partners for fitness because they understand each others need for good health, and count on each other for support. Today many of us just don't have time or energy to join a fitness club but the reaquianting ourselves to fitnessand good health should be a priority.

And walking, jogging, cycling are simple almost effortless tasks. 30 minutes a day, three or more days a week can be nothing less than a healthy start to a longer life.
